Following the recent changes in the airline business to Hawaii, airfare has nearly doubled for summer travel to Honolulu.  We thought reasonably priced Hawaii vacations were a thing of the past, since roundtrip air now averages around $750 from the West Coast.  

But after doing some heavy digging on Expedia.com, we found a handful of unbelievably priced packages in September from just $438 per person.

What's the hitch?  Believe it or not, there really isn't one.  The $438 price is valid for travel over every weekend in September -- you'll depart Los Angeles on a Thursday and return on a Monday.  All flights are direct from LAX. 

The lead price includes 4 nights at the Aqua Continental Hotel, located just 3 blocks from Waikiki Beach.  Dozens of hotel upgrades are available for just a few dollars more.

• Use the "Build Your Trip" tool on the left-hand side to select the departure airport (LAX), the arrival airport (HNL) and travel dates (depart Thursdays in September, stay 4 nights)

• The $438 price above does not include approximately $28 additional for air tax
